How can I use hazelnut, pistachio, macadamia, and almond butter?
From smoothies, to nice cream, paleo banana nut muffins, fruit dip and more… there are many ways to enjoy our single-ingredient organic nut butters. See our blog for more recipe ideas!
Does roasting nuts affect the nutrient profile?
A common misconception is that roasting will drastically change the nutritional profile of nuts. However, roasted and raw nuts have a very similar nutritional profile – with fat, carbohydrates and protein remaining almost unchanged. Because the roasting process removes water content and reduces the weight, roasted nuts have slightly more fat and calories per gram. We roast the nuts used in our nut butters at low temperatures also to ensure that healthy unsaturated fats, antioxidants, and micronutrients remain intact.
Are the nuts dry roasted or oil roasted?
All of the nuts used in our products are dry-roasted. Dry roasting means no oils have been added to the roasting process.
Nut butter is high in fat and calories… is it healthy?
Nuts are a great source of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats! Studies have shown that these fats are beneficial for cognitive health and development, glowing skin and healthy hair, reducing inflammation, and can help to lower the risk of heart disease (amongst a multitude of other functions in the body). So, while it is true that nuts are high in (healthy) fats and calorie-dense – this is good news. Nuts provide essential vitamins, minerals, and nutrients your body needs to stay healthy.
Favourite nut butter fun facts?!
Nut butter is a fantastic source of omega-3 healthy fats. Adding healthy fats to your meals is a great way to stabilize blood sugar levels – leading to sustained energy and optimal metabolic health.
Peanut butter vs other kinds of nut butter... what's the difference?
Peanuts have a very high ratio of omega-6 polyunsaturated fats to omega-3, which can cause inflammation. Consuming a diet with a balance of 1:4 (omega 3: omega 6) is optimal! Peanuts also contain aflatoxin, which is a carcinogenic mould. As a brand focused on quality ingredients with nutritional value, we don't and will never use peanuts in any of our products. Almonds, hazelnuts, pistachio, and macadamia nust have a much better ratio of omega-3 and omega-6 fats. This is beneficial for cognitive health and development, healthy skin and hair, reducing inflammation and can help to lower the risk of heart disease.
